The short version
Pan Checked participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you click a link on our site and buy a product, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What this means in practice
Some of the product links on this site are "affiliate links." If you click one of these links and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. Your price does not change.
These commissions help fund the site — paying for hosting, tools, and the cookware we test. Without them, we could not keep Pan Checked running as an independent publication.
How affiliate links influence what we recommend
They do not. We pick products based on testing, real use, and honest assessment of quality and value. If a $40 knife outperforms a $200 one for most home cooks, we will recommend the $40 knife — even though the commission on the cheaper product is smaller.
If we receive a higher commission rate from one brand than another, that does not move it up our list. Our long-term reputation depends on giving readers advice that actually works for them.
If we ever discover that a product we previously recommended has changed for the worse — quality issues, manufacturer changes, design revisions — we update the article and note the change.
Affiliate programs we participate in
- Amazon Associates (US, and where available)
- Other retailer affiliate programs may be added over time
Whenever we link to a retailer through an affiliate program, the link is functionally identical to any other link on the page. We do not use cloaked links to hide the relationship, and we do not insert affiliate links into article body content without good reason.
